What is Globo?
Globo is a camera-first travel app from Hot Forge Studio. Point your phone at a place in front of you; Globo identifies the landmark and shows its history, audio, and a map of what you have discovered.
How does landmark identification work?
A scan sends your photo and location to Globo’s identification service. The photo is turned into a visual embedding used to match the place. Your original photo stays on your device for the place card; it is not kept as a server photo library.
Where does Globo work?
Globo is built for exploring cities on foot — from major monuments to neighborhood buildings. Available in English and French, made in Paris by Hot Forge Studio.
Is Globo free?
You can start discovering with free scans. Globo Pro unlocks unlimited scanning and richer history through Apple or Google subscriptions.
Can Globo identify a building that is not a famous landmark?
That is what it is built for. Reverse image search struggles with ordinary buildings because it matches photographs rather than places. Globo uses your photo together with your location, so it is not limited to buildings that happen to be photographed often.
